wellspring

I bought this Bible in June, 1957 just prior to leaving for Parris Island boot camp. It went with me all through the Marines and is still with me. Well read, it speaks to me ever more deeply even now.

  1. Nice George!
I call mine my "Idiots Manuel"... seein' on how it speaks to me sometimes like a swift kick in the butt... And other times as if a dove has landed on my shoulder... :)

  2. My Bible was given to me by my aunt Mickey for Christmas when I was 19 years old -- over three decades ago now. She had asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and when I told her I would like a nice Bible, she cautioned me, saying, "that sounds great, but if you are kidding, you'd better let me know now". I guess I didn't look like the "holy" type.

  3. My was given to me by my maternal grandmother only on the condition that I would read it ... funny since she would often criticize me for reading too much :)
