how odd!

How odd! I love the story of God becoming Man and walking among us, but I do not ever wish to be a Christian.

  2. Explain? Simple. I love the story of God and Jesus. I have no desire to be a Christian just as I do not desire to be a Buddhist or a Muslim. If I had a desire to be any of those, I would go to their meetings, recite their creeds, perform their rituals, hang out with their communities, read their literature, partake of their sacraments, defend their turf, believe their beliefs, celebrate their celebration days, and so on.

  3. Yes. Interesting how established religions have to "defend their turf" using any means--in the name of Love/God. I tried to make several "brands" work for me and I did learn from them. "Love they neighbor as thyself" and "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind" work for me. Blessings!

  4. If by "Christian," one means doing one's best to live in accord with the spirit and teachings of Christ, then I am a Christian. By the same principle (doing my best to live in accord with the spirit and teachings of Buddha), I am also a Buddhist. And a Taoist. And a Sufi Muslim. And a Vedantan. And so on. Though I am all these, the fact remains, I am a Christ-ian or Jesus-ian first.

Perhaps a clearer way to say it is that I do not wish to be a Christian, but I am a Christ-ian.

  6. I think there's a huge difference between being a Christian and living in Christ-consciousness.
