Christianity as a method of salvation loses all its efficacy as a method when that method becomes a reality. Once one leaps from a springboard (the method), one no longer needs the springboard. One is in and one is the reality one was springing for. To go back and get the springboard is foolishness. One does not sit and worship the springboard.
In another but similar context, the Buddha said when you get to the other shore, you don't carry the boat around atop your head. Once the method has become a reality, one no longer needs that method. One is no longer a Christian, a Buddhist, a Muslim, a Hindu, a Whatever. One exists as the reality for which one was springing.
