If we hold together as a species, where are we headed? Some say safe in the arms of Jesus, but I don’t think Jesus wants any babies to hold nor to be Entertainer on an eternal ship cruise. I think we are headed toward ongoing expanded awareness of ourselves as our Origin embodying. In God language, that is God godding. In other words, we open to and act from Christ Consciousness. We may prove ourselves worthy yet of earthly and cosmic stewardship by opening to the powers of our Origin.
It is likely that, or we go the way of the Homo neanderthalensi who preceded us. The choice seems to be framed as a binary decision, evolve or die (come with me and live and let the dead bury the dead or die with them). But since biological systems are fuzzy in nature, there may be a gradient of choice involved. In other words, humanity may open gradually to our true nature rather than all at once. The latter scenario would seem to be supported by contemporary Western history since the Romans killed the messenger, yet the philosophical message gradually flowered and took over the Roman civilization any way. The suppression of Buddhism in Tibet, the death of Zen Buddhism in Japan, and the conflict between Judaism and Christianity versus Islam are not good signs that we are opening as a species as a whole.
ReplyDeleteI have long held the belief that if Jesus were to physically step into our reality today, he would be sorely displeased by what evolved from his intended message of 'salvation'. What evolved turned the followers back into mindless, spoiled brats thinking one "I'm really sorry" will grant them a ticket on that eternal cruise, tri-captained by the trinity group.
ReplyDeleteTrue introspective discovery and understanding gains that ticket... but then, that's just my POV of Creation, Inc.
great thoughts George... I think your right though... Jesus changed enough diapers while He was here!
ReplyDeleteThanks, George (and 'revlea')...well expressed. ♥ Cathy
ReplyDeleteIt'd be great if you're right, George. The idea of humanity moving toward expanded Christ Consciousness and "opening to the powers of our Origin" is a beautiful thought. I wish there were more evidence of the possibility on this mortal plane. I keep looking.
ReplyDeleteGreg, if we don't make it as a species, we can make it as individuals. And the more individuals, the greater the chance of the species making it, of course.
ReplyDeleteIf we don't kill ourselves off, I believe our consciousnesses will continue to evolve. Teilhard de Chardin's work and thought are appropriate here, as well as Jean Gebser's and Aurobindo's. Some of us are already aware of ourselves as an embodying of our Origin and what that means.
